A note from the developer
I built Wisperbird because I wanted voice-to-text without paying for one more subscription.
It started as an internal tool for my own work. Once it had grown into a real app, the obvious business model was a monthly plan. That felt wrong, because avoiding another subscription was the reason I built it in the first place.
I don't think speech-to-text should come with a monthly bill. So Wisperbird works offline with Local Whisper and costs $19 once.
Hold one key, speak naturally, and your cleaned-up words land in any text field. Choose private local transcription or connect your own online providers.

Not when you use Local Whisper. That mode transcribes on your computer. If you choose an optional online provider, the relevant audio or text is sent directly to that provider using your own API key.

The current v1 installers are not code-signed or Apple-notarized, so Windows SmartScreen or macOS Gatekeeper may ask you to confirm the installation. Follow the platform-specific steps included with your Gumroad download.
No. Wisperbird preserves your existing clipboard while it inserts the transcription at your cursor.

For v1, updates are manual. Open your Gumroad Library and download the newest installer when a new version is available.
